I’m delighted, and happily surprised, to have been nominated for this award by the lovely Millie, on her blog Millie Thom.
Millie runs a fascinating blog, with many varied subjects, such as historical snippets, travel, fabulous photography, and my personal favourite, ‘Word of the Week’ (WOW). It’s a great blog. You should take a look!
Thank you SO much, Millie, for nominating me! I’ll be raising a glass (or two!) to you tonight! 😀
.
.
So, here are the rules:
- Put the award logo on your blog.
- Thank the people who nominated you, linking to their blogs.
- Answer 7 questions asked by the person who nominated you.
- Nominate any number of bloggers you like, linking to their blogs.
- Let them know you nominated them (by commenting on their blog, etc.)
.
Here are my answers to Millie’s seven questions:
Which is your preferred way of expressing yourself creatively, either on your blog or elsewhere (e.g. art, poetry, photography etc.)
I like photography, but I admit I am not very good at it yet! I also draw, and make collage pieces. But my main love is writing; either poetry or fiction. I have another blog for poetry, but it’s quite personal, so I keep it anonymous. It’s been extremely useful as a release for the darker stuff in my life!
.
What is your favourite genre in books and films/movies, and why?
People who know me well will not be surprised when I say Comedy/Humour. I love to laugh, and make others laugh. I think we should all laugh more often, in spite of our troubles. I wish that were possible.
.
Which three qualities do you value the most in a good friend?
A good sense of humour, obvs! Being openly un-perfect. Loyalty.
.
Are you a city-loving person, or do you prefer the quietness of country life? Give your reasons?
I love the bright lights and buzz of the city. But then I love the open spaces and natural beauty of the country. I can’t decide! Please don’t make me.
.
What do you like best about blogging?
That I am in charge. Even if nobody’s listening. And I can write like nobody’s listening!
.
Is there any particular time of year where you live that you like the best, and why?
The Spring in Switzerland is surprisingly warm, and brings with it the heady promise of a few cardigan-free months ahead! Everybody and his dog is out in the fresh air. It’s all very healthy and convivial!
.
Do you have a favourite flower? If so, what is it you particularly like about it?
The Daisy. As Meg Ryan famously said, (in one of my fave films, ‘You Got Mail’ ) “They’re so friendly. Don’t you think daisies are the friendliest flower?” I do Meg, I do!! 😀
.
Now here are my nominees:
.
.
Rockstar Dinosaur Pirate Princess
.
7 Questions for my nominees:
.
.
- What is your first memory of writing? What was it about?
- How would your friends describe you?
-
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
-
What is your best childhood memory?
-
What is your favorite music?
-
What is a skill you’d like to learn and why?
-
What do you want your tombstone to say?
.
Hope you enjoyed reading my answers, I look forward to reading yours!

Lovely post, Angela! I really enjoyed reading your answers and finding out a little more about you. I love daisies, too. They’re really pretty little flowers, and of course, memories of childhood days spent making daisy chains play a part in the fondness I feel for them. And thank you for your very kind and generous words about me. A well deserved award! 😀
